How to make Pizza Sauce


Making your own pizza sauce is so easy and it’s such a game changer. If you still use a store-bought sauce on your homemade pizza, this is your call. Try this recipe and enjoy!


🕘 40-45 minutes


Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 clove of garlic

  • 1 medium onion

  • 2 Tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 tsp raw sugar

  • 1 can of diced tomatoes

  • ½ cup of passata

  • 1 Tbsp oregano

  • 1 Tbsp Italian herbs

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • A few leaves of fresh basil (chopped)


Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the oil to medium. Add onion and garlic and sauté for approx. 3 minutes. Add tomato paste and raw sugar. Mix well and sauté for 2 more minutes.

  2. Add tomatoes, passata, oregano, Italian seasoning, and salt. Mix well. Bring to boil and simmer for 30 min or until thickened (reduced).

  3. Optional – blend with a stick blender until smooth.

  4. Add in fresh basil and mix. Spread on the pizza dough and place your favorite toppings.

  5. Enjoy!
