Quick and Easy Orange Chocolate Slice

This no-bake treat is a zesty, rich delight that combines the natural sweetness of dates with the bold flavors of dark chocolate and fresh orange zest. A chewy oat base is topped with a creamy date-orange filling, then finished with a silky dark chocolate layer. Sprinkled with sea salt and extra zest, it's the perfect balance of sweet, citrusy, and indulgent - ready to chill and enjoy in just a few simple steps!

Ingredients:


Base:


  • 1 ½ cups of rolled oats

  • 3 Tbsp coconut oil

  • 3 Tbsp maple syrup

  • Pinch of salt


Filling:


  • 1 ½ cups of dates – soaked in boiling water for 10 minutes

  • 5 Tbsp water

  • 2 Tbsp coconut oil

  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract

  • ¼ cup orange zest

  • Big pinch of salt


  • 200g dark chocolate

  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil

  • 1 Tbsp orange juice

  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup


  • 2 Tbsp orange zest, sea salt flakes



Instructions:


  1. Soak dates, zest the orange.

  2. To make the base: place oat in a food processor and blend well. Add coconut oil, maple syrup and salt. Pulse a few times until well combined.

  3. Place the base in a square cake tin and spread evenly. Press with your hand and place in the fridge for the time being.

  4. Drain dates and place them in a food processor. Add coconut oil orange zest, vanilla extract, water, salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  5. Pour the cream and spread over the base layer. Place in the fridge.

  6. Melt the chocolate with coconut oil. Add orange juice and maple syrup mix well.

  7. Pour the chocolate over and spread evenly.

  8. Sprinkle with orange zest and sea salt. Place in the fridge for several hours to let it set.

  9. Enjoy!
